Playstation Boy has started a blog - well mine will be funnier... Oh yes it will. Frankly I don't see how he finds the time between bouts of Gran Turismo & Shadow of the Colossus. He is playing a motorbike game at the moment - tells a lot as to the way he rides in real life.

I let him drive my car yesterday (with L plates on - bless the little 30 year old) all the way to the banger racing at Wimbledon. I was very impressed until he maimed a seagull whilst driving at 10 miles an hour - I didn't think that was even possible. Needless to say after 2 hours of watching 'big van banger' racing he wasn't driving home. I'm tempted to go out and buy a transit myself. Below is a piccy before the smoke started billowing and one of them was rolled over (driver walked away you'll be pleased to hear).

Yeah right! I read this quote today by a guy called Zef Eisenberg, who it turns out is the founder of Maximuscle. This morning, Zef was just a writer of a 'Getting into Shape' pamphlet I was reading, but with strong views that I strongly disagreed with - well one view in particular, the rest sounded exactly the same as the Abs diet. Intrigued, I looked this guy up online and hence know something of his pedigree. To quote further from the web, 'The day begins at dawn when Eisenberg wakes to weigh his food.........'

I have so little in common with this man. And that is fine, great, fabulous in fact and exactly how I want it to be. That's the problem with this dieting malarky for me. I don't like dieters. I like people who enjoy their food, their wine, their lives. Zef, I'm sure you are a great guy, but you don't make the cut on my Christmas card list.

Have been for a run today and been good on the calories. Feeling satisfied. God, I sound like Bridget Jones. I can't stand her either.

I am ecstatic! My secret goal has been to lose a number of lbs in order to become 2 Nicole Richies. I think that being twice NRs weight sounds ideal. I should stop dieting right now. Sadly the sweet 16 still stands, so should keep going.

Got up yesterday to do my run. I have never seen such rain (well, apart from the time the gutters overan, the ceiling fell down and the floorboards buckled under the weight & water..). So I went to the gym. Fascinating place. Nice to know where it is.

6 Meals a Day....

The Abs diet reckons that you should have 6 meals a day. Well I ate all 6 when out with the girls on Wednesday. Other than that, I'm feeling quite good on the eating front. Need to work on the exercise though. Daily jogging hit a hiccup - maybe 3 times a week is realistic (well, if I do it tomorrow).

Playstation Boy has disappeared to Texas. Not sure how successful the next week will be without the watchful eye of my very own Diet Cowboy. Mind you, you have to imagine that I'll have more success at healthy living than he will. Or maybe I am being unfair to Round Rock, Texas. Who knows? (No-one I've ever met for sure.)

Hope he brings me back the new North Dakota quarter.... (hint).

Day 2

Alive! Too shattered yesterday to write anything. Woke up at 6.30 both days and went for a run round one block. Both those facts sound rather simple written down, but for a girl who crawls out of bed last minute and has showering, dressing and time from flat to railway station down to seconds to spare, this was quite a feat. Yesterday, I felt so ashamed at how unfit I was, today, I’m just glad that I made it and regained my breathing.

It’s 10pm now and I am so tired. I had thought this was going to be light-hearted and witty and fun to re-read. Instead I’m struggling to put finger to keyboard. Off for some beauty sleep.

Day 0

Tomorrow is the beginning of a new era. Apparently.

Playstation Boy (PSB) and I are beginning a new healthy fitness craze with specific goals – his to gain 20 lbs and mine to lose about the same. I have always been cuddly, but am now referred to as chunky monkey. Allegedly this is a term of endearment.

This morning we weighed in, measured all sorts of extremities and took photographic evidence of what we look like at Day 0. The blog is meant to act as both a means of encouragement and documentary proof of progress (or lack of).

I am going to try and take this seriously, but for tonight, I’m back to my Bloody Mary & scouring the fridge eating things that I can’t tomorrow.
